Regiment d’Artois

Actions on the day at Blenheim

The Artois regiment were part of Marquis de Clerambault section on the French Right Wing. They were in the second line of defence in the village of Blenheim itself.

There were two battallions present on the day and along with the Provence regiment they made up the Marquis de Balincourt’s Brigade.

Uniform Details


Artois Regiment. France, Blenheim 1704
Grey coat lined grey. Yellow hat lace. Breeches also grey. The neck cloth was white.

The Navarre regiment were part of Marquis de Clerambault section on the French Right Wing. They were in the first line of defence in the village of Blenheim itself. There were in fact 3 battalions of the Navarre regiment at the battle and all were stationed together in the village.
